Ortisei, the picturesque capital of Val Gardena, turns into a winter fairy tale in the pre-Christmas period. The snow-covered scene and the magical atmosphere are always of great appeal to our visitors.
The Christimas Village combines the historical traditions of Val Gardena with the elegance and exclusivity of the range of products offered in the wooden huts. The cozy and comfortable wooden huts, invite visitors to taste local products and gastronomic delicacies in a romantic atmosphere. At the Christmas Village, you will find a rich assortment of products, ranging from the most original gift items to tasty Christmas cakes. There will also be fine liqueurs and South Tyrolean wines, which stand out for their exceptional quality and aroma.

In addition to the wide range of products in the Christmas Village, there are also events in which local groups and musicians will perform. We invite you to attend these shows, which will make you enjoy the special Christmas atmosphere.

Advent Reflections - S. Cristina - 14.12.2025

On Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., the traditional Advent Concert will fill the Parish Church of S. Cristina in Val Gardena with festive melodies and a warm Christmas spirit. A diverse and inspiring musical program awaits the audience: the parish choir, the renowned Cor Sasslong, the group I Rujins, and a guitar and violin trio will perform together to create an enchanting evening of Advent music and reflective atmosphere. The concert is a wonderful opportunity to pause the rush of everyday life and let the music and ambiance gently lead you into the Christmas season in the Dolomites. Afterwards, at 6:00 p.m., the traditional Advent raffle will take place on the church square – a heartwarming finale to a beautiful evening of music and community.

Feel the Christmassy atmosphere also during the „Mountain Christmas“. Discover the 350 m chain of lights with artistic hanging lift cabins made of wood and enjoy the nice combination of ski and Christmas flair in the centre of Selva Val Gardena. You will also find tasting stands with mulled wine and traditional pastries.

• „Mountain Christmas“ - Christmas in Selva Val Gardena

Make the most of the countless direct trains leaving daily from Munich, Vienna, Rome, Florence, Bologna, Venice, and Milan to South Tyrol. Prefer to wake up to the sight of the mountains? Why not book a night train from Rome, Hamburg, or Düsseldorf?

On the first four weekends of the Val Gardena Christmas markets, Trenitalia will operate a special Christmas train providing a direct connection between Lombardy and South Tyrol. The trains run between Milano Centrale and Bolzano, offering a convenient way to enjoy the Christmas season in Val Gardena.
The closest train stations to Val Gardena are in Bolzano (40 km), Ponte Gardena (18 km), Chiusa (23 km), Bressanone (34 km). From the train and bus stations you can reach Val Gardena as follows:

• Participating hotels, guesthouses, and B&Bs will provide you with the Val Gardena Guest Pass: use public transport in South Tyrol for free during your holiday, including on check-in and check-out day. Take bus 350 when travelling between Bolzano/Ponte Gardena/Bressanone and Val Gardena.
